Lower maintenance…lower…lower…good.

This is what I thought I needed for three months of traveling:

Ha.

Unfortunately, that does not equal this:

So after a redefinition of “essential”, I packed about half of what was originally on my bed. And I’m ready!

To all of you who have made this place such a precious home to me, thank you for making it bittersweet to leave it even for just a few months. Who knew…this flighty girl started to grow roots when I wasn’t paying attention! Thank you for all of your sweet, thoughtful goodbyes. I will miss you very, very much!

  • No industrial-strength hair-drier?

  • Nope! I am truly roughing it. :)
    Uncle Dan…ha ha…

  • * the good thing about traveling is that you can wear the same thing for a whole month, smell, and nobody really cares. unless you go to new york city, i’ve decided – new york city is a place that has much talent in making me feel under-dressed and shabby.

  • I missed saying good-bye to you!! Well, hurry back, so we can hang out. And be sure to document all your amazing stories, so I can live vicariously through you now that I have to settle down and grow roots. :-(
